Most publishing services keep authors dependent. That is not the model here. The Publishing Guide exists to raise independent authors — people who finish their first book under Verified Knowledge Press, and walk away with everything they need to publish their second, third, and tenth without us.
Your first title is published under the Verified Knowledge Press imprint. Every book after that is yours to publish however you choose — through your own imprint, directly on Amazon KDP, or with any other publisher. We are a launching pad, not a long-term gatekeeper.

This is not theory.

In September 2025, this book was a note in a journal. By January 2026, the full 50,000-word manuscript of The Intelligent Edge was complete — written in ten chapters, using the same structure, AI workflow, and verification discipline that shape this programme.

Only your first title is published under Verified Knowledge Press. Every book you write after that is yours to publish however you choose — through your own imprint, directly on Amazon KDP, or with another publisher entirely.
No ongoing contracts. No royalty claims on future titles. No long-term lock-in. This guide exists to launch you, then step aside.

Why only the first book under VKP?
Because this programme exists to raise independent authors, not to build a publishing empire. The first book is published under VKP as a launching pad — properly edited, properly designed, properly listed. By the end, you have the skills and the network to publish the next book on your own. That is the entire point.
What kind of books does this work for?
Non-fiction rooted in lived experience or professional expertise works best — memoir, leadership, methodology, recovery stories, practitioner guides, faith-based reflections, entrepreneurial lessons. The programme is not currently built for fiction, poetry, or highly academic titles.
Will using AI make my book feel generic?
Not if you follow the discipline taught in the programme. AI is used as a structural helper and research assistant, never as a voice. Your stories, your phrasing, your cultural references, your exact way of saying things — these stay yours throughout. Voice protection is the single most important skill taught.
I have never finished anything long before. Is that a problem?
Most people enrolling are first-time authors. The 6-month structure exists precisely because it carries people through who have never written a book before. The author of this programme wrote her first book in 2025–2026 — she remembers exactly what it felt like to stare at a blank page in Chapter Three.
Who owns the rights to my book?
You do. Full copyright stays with you. The first book carries the Verified Knowledge Press imprint on the publishing page, but the intellectual property, royalties, and creative control are yours. Specific terms are set out in a clear service agreement shared before enrolment.
Do I have to live in Uganda?
No. All 1:1 sessions are conducted via Google Meet or Zoom. The programme works for authors across East Africa, West Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, and North America — anywhere you have a reliable internet connection and time to write.
What if I fall behind schedule?
Life happens. The programme has built-in flexibility for up to 30 days of pause across the six months — no penalty, no rebooking fees. Beyond that, we would agree on a reasonable extension together. Finishing honestly matters more than finishing quickly.
What is the refund policy?
Full terms are in the service agreement and on the Refund Policy page. In short: a 14-day refund window after enrolment; after that, completed work is non-refundable and remaining sessions are partially refundable within the agreed terms.
